OUR WINES
An exclusive selection of artisan wines
We pride ourselves in our excellent and authentic wines, Chianti DOCG and Toscana IGT. For our red wines we mainly use Sangiovese grapes and, to allow for diversity in our selection, in some wines we add Canaiolo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
For our white wine we use the traditional Tuscan grapes Trebbiano and Malvasia.
Our wines are entirely produced and bottled at the estate.
ANTICO BORGO LA TORRE
Chianti DOCG
Antico Borgo La Torre is an artisan family-run winery producing authentic Chianti wine, using traditional low-intervention methods.
The wine has a scent of fresh berry fruits and cherries. On the palate it evolves with a note of plumb and spices, grounded in well-integrated tannins. It pairs wonderfully with tomato-based dishes, as well as salumi and pecorino cheese.
IL CALANCO
Chianti DOCG
This wine – ‘Il Calanco’ – is named after the sandy clay hill rising above the vineyard at Antico Borgo La Torre. Traditional wine-making techniques are used by the family winery to produce a truly authentic Chianti wine.
The wine presents aromas of cherries and forest fruits, with light notes of liquorice. Offering a savoury delight across the palate, with lively, smooth tannins and a pleasant acidity. It is wonderful with red meats, stews and BBQ.
ROSSO DE’ MEDICI
Toscana IGT
The Medici Tornaquinci coat of arms marks the premium quality of this elegant Tuscan red wine. Antico Borgo La Torre was part of the estates of the noble family, whose descendants are the current owners.
Notes of wild berries are felt across the palate and evolve into a lingering finish. A hint of leather and smooth tannins create an elegant and well balanced structure.
BIANCO DE’ MEDICI
Toscana IGT
The Medici Tornaquinci coat of arms marks this refined Tuscan white wine. Antico Borgo La Torre was part of the estates of the noble family, whose descendants are the current owners.
With a scent of elderberry and peach, the wine evolves on the palate with notes of apricot, white honey and green apple. Made from the traditional Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes, it is a crisp and refreshing aperitif as well as a wonderful companion to seafood and white meats.

The farm “Antico Borgo La Torre S.S.A.”, authorised for agritourism, has a total of 32 Ha of land consisting of about 10 Ha of vineyards, 1 Ha of olive groves, 10 Ha of arable land, 9 Ha of woods and the remainder comprises an orchard and a walnut grove. Agricultural activity is undertaken in accordance with principles for environmental conservation, biodiversity and food security by minimising the use of synthetic chemicals.
